Photos from Baguio "Pinagbenga" Flower Fest

Every year, Baguio city celebrates the "Pinagbenga" Flower Festival. The whole month of February is filled with activies including Street Dancing Parade and Flower Floats Parade. On the last week, Session Road, the city's main road is closed to give way to local and visiting sellers and hundreds of vacationers from across the Philippines.

Most of the products showcased are from the Cordillera Region but there are also stalls offering specialties from different provinces.  Both sides of the streets are lined with stalls and kiosks selling wood work, lighting fixtures, plants and orchids, home decor, accessories, and food.  Even  the hotels of Metro Baguio set up their mini-restaurant booths in the of middle road to serve their best cuisine.

As for me, I bought a wooden mortar & pestle set and some wooden spoons as souvenir for this year.  Here are some photos from the event:

This Morning: Cafe by the Ruins

This morning, me and my hubby stopped by Cafe by the Ruins, a local restaurant best known for serving good food using fresh produce from the Cordillera region.  It is also a venue for poetry readings, art exhibits and dance performances.  I've started a new blog too. Still needs a lot of work but if you have time to check it out, it would be so sweet to hear from you: )
