What do you do in your basement? only be utilized as a warehouse? why do not you try changing your basement into a beautiful room and colorful like Annie Selke.. Although Annie Selke has managed to convert hers basement into a very bright and colorful, teen-friendly bedroom. Her daughter is 17 years old and she chose to have this large space that become like a mini studio apartment instead of

Good Old Blue & White
I have posted this bedroom before but I thought I would post it again today as I still love it and it reminded me that blue and white can look so beautiful in a bedroom. I also love the black iron bed and the mix of furniture styles in this room. {image - country living magazine}
Here are a couple of new blue and white fabrics which hit our fabric library this week. I'm sure the die hard blue and white fans will be excited to know that we have had a very big influx of beautiful blue and white fabrics over the last few months into our library.
PS. It seems that the fresh flower post I wrote yesterday has created a bit of stir amongst readers from areas where it is hard to grow and buy fresh flowers/produce. I am very lucky to live in a sub-tropical climate where flowers/foliage/fruit & vegetables are accessible and easy to grow. I apologise if I have offended anybody with my post. That certainly wasn't my intention. I was purely stating my own personal preference and in my haste I didn't consider the circumstances of readers in remote/barren areas.

Bedroom Inspiration

I stumbled across this fabulous bedroom image in one of Melanie's client files today. She is currently on holidays so the girls and I are looking after her client work while she is gone. This is an image one of her clients tore out of a magazine as inspiration for her bedroom which they are currently working on at their beach apartment. I hadn't seen this image before and immediately I was drawn to it. I hope Mel and her client don't mind me sharing it here but I definitely thought it was worth sharing!! I really like the unusual combination of black, white and blue in this room.
Image source unknown. If anyone knows the source please let me know as I found it as a tear sheet.

Two Lovely Bedrooms
I was on the Living Etc. website today and I came across these two bedrooms I love. The top one in particular is my favourite. I love the thrown together mix of patterned fabrics and vintage pieces. This style of decorating always looks unique and individual. The thing I like best in the bottom room is the cabinetry...fantastic idea for a small room don't you think?! I even love the idea of installing bookcasing around a bed in this same way.

That Bed Head

You might remember this DIVINE guest bedroom belonging to U.S. designer Krista Ewart which was featured in Domino magazine last year. I remember absolutely obsessing over this room and that bed head. Well, you wouldn't believe it when I tell you that on the weekend some of LA's top designers had a tag sale in which they sold off some amazing things. Fellow blogger and friend Megan Samuels from Beach Bungalow 8 was there. I loved seeing the photos she shared of the sale. But when I saw the Krista Ewart bed head in the photos I nearly fainted! I emailed Megan straight away and said that if I was there I would have strapped myself to that bedhead and not let it go. Megan emailed me back and said she purchased it. I can't believe how lucky she was!! She is going to put it in her daughter's bedroom and apparently Krista threw in the ticking stripe bed skirt as well. Gosh, I can't wait to see what Megan does with it.
Congrats on your fantastic buy Megan!! I wonder what Krista Ewart will do in her guest room now?!

A Pretty Bedroom
I love this pretty bedroom - a mix of vintage furniture and lots of soft pretty colours. As the article states, the bed is actually metal but is painted to look like bentwood. A French Provencal cabinet and a Swedish writing table both serve as bedside tables. Flower paintings by late Australian Artist Justin O'Brian sit on each side table. I LOVE this room. Simply Pretty
Such a pretty image from Living Etc. I love the old white painted chest of drawers and the collection of special things on display. The old mannequin proves to be a great idea for hanging jewellery and accessories on and I just love the beautiful fresh flowers. So pretty!!Wednesday, January 30, 2008
Today I Love...
I love this bedroom which Urban Grace Interiors blog posted a while back. The very bold and broad striped wallpaper is softened by the vintage pieces of furniture and paintings - love it!!

Do you crave a restful, serene, simple, stylish, luxurious bedroom? This bedroom by Thomas O'brien via Studio Annetta is all those things. I love the mirror front wardrobe doors and the all white colour scheme is so restrained and simply beautiful!Sunday, August 26, 2007
A Pretty Bedroom

White bed linen always looks so fresh and inviting. I love the white flowing bed linen in the above picture and those yellow roses are to die for. This is definately a bedroom I would be very comfortable living in.

Fit For A Princess
This would have been my dream bedroom when I was a little girl and it even has my letter A on the wall! I do love that this room would be suitable for a girl of 3 or a girl of 30.Image courtesy of Cottage Living Magazine.
