A Madrilenian chalet with British influence

This Spanish abode used to be two separate houses that the owners fused into one with the help of an Architect. The now spacious rooms were decorated by the owners and I should say I love the feeling of just the right amount of seriousness and country feeling they accomplished. The same color scheme can be seen around the house bringing serenity. The patina of the unfinished wood of the furniture gives that country atmosphere that the owners seem to prefer.

A Charming Farmhouse

Good morning, I hope you had a great weekend; mine was a very busy one. There are so many unfinished projects around our house that I think being busy over the weekends is going to be the norm for a while. I recently added this picture to my files because images like this farmhouse entrance in Walton, N.Y. of the painter Sean Scherer, is the reason why every now and then I wish I had a farmhouse- no animals included of course, where I can go and escape from the hustle and bustle of the City. To see more country living inspired images of this home go here. The rest of the house is even more beautiful.

A perfect Fall Interior

I covet summer and although this past Saturday was a gorgeous day in the city; today Sunday, is a complete different story. It's looking and feeling a lot more like fall. I'm not complaining here. The fall season certainly has its beauty. It's the neither-hot-nor-cold temperatures that unnerve me. When I found these beautiful images through SDA Decoration, made me want to own a winter cottage with timber paneled walls to keep the warm feeling of nature indoors throughout fall and winter. Each panel measures 50 by 50 in case one of you is interested.

A charming home

Although I prefer to mix vintage pieces with new or custom furniture, I couldn't help but fall for this charming home when I came across it some time ago. This house is furnished completely with vintage furniture, but because of the use of color throughout looks fresh and unpretentious. This would make a perfect weekend cottage. Don't you think?
